Technology for People

Engineering tomorrow.

Since 2001, Softcom has been connecting what decades of highly specialised solutions have kept apart in energy, mobility and public administration. Because digital transformation, driven by AI, now calls for the opposite: working across boundaries.

Making technology work for your business

Three sectors, three areas of expertise, one shared commitment: designing solutions that work in the real world.

A relief map of Switzerland

Managing a smarter grid.

Generation, distribution and the energy transition

Softcom Energy Hub, the modular platform for distribution system operators. Flexibility, local energy communities and intelligent Virtual Power Plant management.

Keeping people and operations moving.

Public transport, operations and electric mobility

Digital tools for drivers with Itera, operational efficiency and traffic monitoring: solutions built around the realities of transport.

Digital services with a human touch.

Education, justice, policing and healthcare

Simplifying public services with eGovHub, a modular platform for digitising front-desk and back-office services while respecting legal requirements and data sovereignty.

Built with an open-source-first approach: what is developed for one administration benefits others.

Not working in one of these sectors? Let’s talk about your challenges.

Our approach

Lay the groundwork

A successful project starts long before the first line of code. We use proven methods to clarify your goals, constraints and priorities, focusing our efforts where they can create value quickly.

Your questions, answered
  • Kick-off workshop
  • Shared goals and priorities
  • Requirements specification
  • Initial roadmap

Our approach

Bring in domain experts

A useful solution starts with a detailed understanding of your day-to-day work. Our energy, mobility and public administration teams work with your specialists to turn operational realities into clear requirements.

Your questions, answered
  • Interviews with your teams
  • Mapped journeys and workflows
  • Prioritised business needs
  • Shared success criteria

Our approach

Plan, scope and prototype

We turn ideas into something tangible so decisions are based on evidence. A clear scope, a realistic timeline and a prototype tested with your users help validate choices before development begins.

Your questions, answered
  • Scope, budget and timeline
  • User journeys and designs
  • Working prototype
  • User testing and decisions

Our approach

Build in our Software Factory

We build your solution in successive releases, with regular feedback from your teams. Our Software Factory combines domain expertise with AI-assisted development to deliver faster without compromising quality, reusing what has already proved effective rather than starting from scratch on every project.

Your questions, answered
  • Delivered and demonstrated releases
  • AI-accelerated development, human reviews and quality control
  • Shared components reusable across projects
  • Integration, documentation and onboarding

Our approach

Operate and keep improving

Going live opens a new chapter. We stay by your side to monitor your solution, support your teams and help it evolve as your needs change.

Your questions, answered
  • Supported go-live
  • Monitoring and support
  • Maintenance and updates
  • Shared development roadmap

Frequently asked questions

Before the climb

Where is our data hosted?

In Switzerland. Development, hosting and operations remain within the country, in ISO 27001-certified infrastructure. For public administrations with data sovereignty requirements, we document the entire chain, including subcontractors.

Who owns the code you develop?

The code we develop for you belongs to you. It is your project, your budget and your tool: ownership passes to you on delivery. For the public sector, we go further with an open-source-first policy: where appropriate, the code can be made reusable by other Swiss public organisations, so that public money funds solutions that benefit several organisations rather than a single administration.

Do you build custom software or integrate existing products?

Both, depending on what best serves your project. We do not start from scratch every time: we reuse what has already proved its value elsewhere and build custom software for what really needs to fit the way you work. The goal is never technology for its own sake, but the right solution for you.

What does AI actually change for our project?

AI helps us deliver faster without sacrificing quality and reuse what has already proved effective rather than starting from scratch every time. It amplifies our teams’ domain expertise; it does not replace it.

Talk to our team about this
What happens after go-live?

We do not deliver and disappear. The team that designed your project is the team that continues to develop it: the same people, the same understanding of your context, with no handover to a new team that has to learn everything from scratch. Maintenance, enhancements, scaling: we stay roped in with you.

Do you work with organisations subject to public procurement rules?

Yes, it is a core part of our work. We work with public administrations and eGov organisations, and we understand public procurement requirements: tenders, specifications and compliance obligations.

Do you also work in German-speaking Switzerland?

Yes. German-speaking Switzerland is a priority market for us, and we already work with public administrations there. Our presence extends beyond French-speaking Switzerland.

A project, a question? We’ve got you covered.

Tell us what you need. We’ll find the right person to get back to you quickly.
